European extra virgin olive oil was once again the protagonist of this year's ACCI Gusto fair, the first and only fair specializing in Italian agri-food products in Japan.
At the event, which took place on 1 and 2 November at the Tokyo Metropolitan Industrial Trade Center, the European Olive Oil project contributed to the event by spreading the history and raising awareness of the benefits of the highly prized European extra virgin olive oil with a themed workshop.
The fair, organized by the Associazione Cuochi Cucina Italiana in Japan is the main meeting place for major importers, distributors and promoters of Italian cuisine and perfectly showcased the impact of the European Olive Oil project.
The workshop allowed the audience to taste the quality of extra virgin olive oil at the show in Tokyo, thanks to tastings guided by a specialized sommelier. Further, attendees were able to learn more about the raw material's organoleptic characteristics and its uses and benefits. Thanks to his deep knowledge, the sommelier demonstrated the different uses of olive oil in cooking and its various blends.
Thirty-five participants attended the gala dinner, including importers, top editors and writers, and representatives from the Italian embassy and ICE. They all celebrated the excellence of this incredible product, synonymous with taste and well-being.
Each year, the exhibition is a forum for building the connection between the East and the West, as the Italian embassy and ICE, the agency for the promotion and internationalization of Italian companies, actively participated in the event.
