Personal care and home chores? Olive oil comes to the rescue

In ancient Greece, olive oil was used to protect bronze statues from erosion.

Olive oil can protect even the most delicate and valuable surfaces from dust, rain, snow, and wind.

A protective "shield" that is still considered a valuable food to our diets and an effective product for personal care and the odd home chores we all have to handle.

Here are some ideas for using this extract in unusual situations.

Few people know, for example, that olive oil is particularly suitable for men's grooming: it allows the razor to glide better on the skin and gently shave to avoid painful cuts.

The Italian website "Non sprecare" lists a number of very original ideas on how to use olive oil for small daily chores.

A few drops of olive oil can be used to polish furniture and stainless steel: pour a little on a dry, soft cloth and wipe it over the furniture's surface to make it as good as new; also effective on leather clothes!

Try olive oil to easily remove melted wax from your favorite holiday candles without scrubbing.

Also, tired of using chemical and polluting products to clean gardening and work tools? Olive oil can be a natural remedy against rust. And, if your doors' squeaking is giving you a headache, a few drops of olive and the noise will disappear.

Having a bottle of olive oil ready to be used will provide a supply of flavor and a quick fix for the small tasks of daily life.
