A tasteful journey that brings the East and the West together thanks to a fusion of Mediterranean and Japanese cuisines and that allows you to get back in shape by losing weight. The idea of the diet comes from the nutritionist and gastroenterologist Samir Sukkar, from whom it takes its name, and allows you to lose up to 4 kilos in 3 weeks.
It is a healthy way to lose weight since the diet integrates all nutrients necessary for energy needs. The Sukkar dietary regimen focuses on foods such as extra virgin olive oil, fish, fruit and vegetables, legumes and cereals. Green tea is also a must. The diet, however, discourages the consumption of red meat and its derivatives and refined sugars.
The Sukkar diet is divided into five meals a day (three main ones: breakfast, lunch and dinner, plus two snacks) and includes two types of regimens: the basic one for maintaining physical fitness and the slimming one, aimed at weight loss.
The basic regimen requires the daily consumption of a portion of carbohydrates and one of legumes, and 40 monthly portions of fish (always once a day and twice a week for both lunch and dinner) and 10 servings of poultry and eggs (about twice a week) and it allows consumption of vegetables to taste.
Extra virgin olive oil and dried fruit should be consumed daily to ensure the intake of Omega 3 and antioxidants. The regimen aimed at weight loss alternates between one day of “Sukkar base” diet and one day of hypo-glucose and hypo-fat diet. On the "hypo" days, the only sources of carbohydrates are fruits and the only source of fats (lipids) is extra virgin olive oil.
The alternation between a higher caloric intake and a lower one will lead to a significant weight loss without jeopardizing your health.
A diet rich in antioxidants that also helps reduce fat mass!
